“Our first real place”? If you go by this strip from 2008, Darin and Jessica got married about ten years ago. Darin had rarely been seen (and Jess not at all) until they appeared on Les’ doorstep in April of 2011. So if this old apartment over a pizza parlor is their first real place, where and how had they lived before Moore Manor? Staying with friend after friend until they wore out their welcome?

The CW in the Army? I like it…in the unlikely event that TB follows through on the implication in this strip, that is.
Less shocking than Cory’s announcment that he’s enlisting is the fact that Batiuk is indeed following through from the Sunday strip three weeks ago. As was noted when we saw Cory doing those chinups at the recruitment booth, an aimless, able-bodied young man such as he might benefit from a stint in the military. Looks like it’s already having an effect on the boy: he’s already ditched his Wilma Flintstone necklace.
Funky's Turn
Today’s strip at least supplies a little ex post facto context for Les’ curious “coma” quip: poor guy’s just looking forward to a little respite from life’s unceasing demands. Holly and Cory seem to materialize from out of nowhere. “Dad…we need to talk.” Now there’s an understatement! Think this is going to go well?
Coma Ci, Coma Ça
“Just think, Les…this comic strip is named after me, and yet all the major storylines are about you and your daughter!” As Funky points out, it’s been yet another watershed year for Mr. Moore.
Faithful snarkers are cautioned not to wishfully take Les’ “medically induced coma” comment as any kind of foreshadowing.
Doucheland Über Alley
Rather than shell out for what is probably a pretty good cache of collectible comics (and he couldn’t sell them on consignment?), Dead Skunk Head John shrewdly arranges for Pete’s collection to be sold on the streets mere steps from his store.
More “upside-down” skateboard decks” (hat tip billytheskink) can be seen today.
