If the gag requires shoehorning in an acute accent for us to understand that it’s not “consume” but “consumé“, then by golly, the gag is pretty weak. TB could’ve spelled it “consommé”; it’d still be correct. Not any funnier, but still correct.
In any event, the look on the face of that Channel 1 reporter (whose last name, I’ll bet, is “Williams”) isn’t a reaction to Bull’s latest Bushka-ism. Rather, he’s startled to see Bull’s head suddenly expanding to the width of his shoulders!
