Still no big reveal as to the source of the scary orange capital R’s, but while these two were experiencing their respective flashbacks, something happened to put them both on the ground. I don’t suppose panicked Wally tackled Adeela, else she’d be running away shrieking. Having the other students walking by instead of stopping to offer assistance is probably the most realistic human behavior Batiuk’s depicted in months. Also, while we are all fond of Buddy, he’s pretty useless as a service animal.
FYI, on CK Wednesday was a very entertaining FW board with a chap calling himself Captain Quirk excoriating the commentators for their critiques. Some of us believe he’s Todd.
I wasn’t able to locate the post you mentioned. Could you provide a link please?
Gladly! http://interact.stltoday.com/comics/?feature_id=Funky_Winkerbean&feature_date=2018-10-31
Mr. Batiuk certainly is thin-skinned, isn’t he? Or is he? Uh-oh, here comes the captain!

Thank you
I noticed a couple the posts were from people who just recently created a Discus account. They had one or two posts, all supporting Batty.
Yep, Wally’s making progress all right. Good thing they had that helpful wall to hide behind, it’s the perfect thing to thwart those two foot-or-less threats as they arise. I just wish this one would end already, it’s actually painful to watch at this point.
Notice that the wall they hide behind are beautifully detailed bricks. Lovely bricks! But the building has but implied bricks. It looks like Ayers has decided to get as lazy a Burchett.
If you had to work with this awful dreck, you’d be lazy too!
“I think it’s stopped”
Don’t tease us Batiuk, just end this thing.
Wow, Batiuk wimped out. I wonder if he actually does have some standards, or if the artist just refused to draw silly “RRRRRRRR” panels for the entire week.
Yeah, normally they would continue this nonsense through Friday.
Panel 2 Buddy’s back on the job.
It would be one thing if it were just Batiuk changing sock puppets or beating us over the head with yet another ill-conceived moral without this attracting the inevitable red-hat wearing dipshit who keeps yelling at Sikhs because he refuses to understand who all wears turbans and why.
Also, Wally sure was brave today. He made quite the impression on me by using Adeela as a human shield……
If you’re referring to Capt. Quirk, his posts all seem to be “Hey you kids! Get off my lawn!”
Or sneering, “Let’s see YOUR award-winning syndicated comic strip!”
“Award-nominated syndicated comic strip.”
I never understood people like that.
So for those people, you cannot like FW either, cause where is your nationally syndicated strip.
So She is afraid he will kill her and he is afraid she will kill him, and that he might have to kill her. The way I see it, they’re ahead of the game. It usually takes lab/project partners a few weeks to come to that conclusion.
There’s no way anyone could read this terrible dreck and come to the conclusion that the author “has a chance to do something meaningful and profound” or whatever it was that idiot said.
Well, I mean, technically speaking Batiuk always has a chance to do that, he just never, ever comes anywhere close to that.
Did they really just “take cover”… *OUTSIDE* in broad fuckin’ daylight?
How the hell does Wally West set his alarm clock in the morning without cowering in the closet with the safety off on his army-issue M9 Beretta?
