It’s widely known that Batiuk prepares his strips a year in advance, so it’s sheer coincidence that today’s Sunday Throwaway is actually rather timely. Facebook users have grown increasingly discontented with the website’s disregard for their privacy, and are beginning to defect. In fact, next Monday, May 31 has been designated “Quit Facebook Day”. Summer, however, appears reluctant to truly “bail” on social networking, instead giving herself a break from “Facespace”, not due to any privacy concerns but because it’s become a time suck. Kind of like following this comic strip.

Porch Swingers

Guess they’re already back from dinner. How far is Les gonna let this go? Given their history, is he not the least bit uncomfortable with her clinginess and her excitement over his finally getting published? And what is with Summer’s complete deadpan non-reaction at seeing these two on the porch? Is she relieved, too, that Cayla’s out of the picture? Or is she just wasted? And when will Lisa’s ghost weigh in with her approval/disapproval?

Keisha returns home after a long night of bustin’ heads with her gang, the Baseball Furies. That cold bottle of Cristal would go down real good…Better put it back on ice, though; once Cayla tells her daughter who Les was gettin’ “busy” with, we’re goin’ extra innings!

Susan Loves It when a Plan Comes Together

Too many co-inky-dinks going on in this arc: Susan gets to Les’ Garage mere minutes ahead of Cayla…Cayla peeps them through the window but rather than create a scene, splits, unnoticed…When Cayla calms down and decides to call Les, her stupid phone battery’s dead…already. And Susan just grins that shit-eatin’ grin of hers…

You Know What They Say About Payback…

Oh no she din’t. Girlfriend is being very forward with Mr. Moore, th’ hell with Cayla. Well, I guess the only way a passive schmuck like Les gets a date is when the ladies ask him out; she’ll probably pick up the check, too. But he’s so worth it.

And how about that third panel? “It’s the least I can do for the guy who saved my life.” Hon, did he pull you out of the lake? Or a burning house or car? You tried to kill yourself over him! Saving your weak sorry ass was the least he could do to avoid a lifetime of guilt and possible legal action! GET OVER YOUR SELF!
