I believe that’s both Les and Cayla standing off to the side behind Nate. How fun!

Yep, Lord and Lady Douchebag have a place of honor behind Nate, and Summer beams her approval as he wraps up his sermon. If “the long and short of it” is that the SSC is allowed to attend in accordance with the school’s rules, why the hell didn’t Nate just tell Roberta that when she blew into his office? Oh, right: this is a month-long prestige arc.

Nate’s “through talking about this”? To whom has he been talking? When Roberta burst into his office, he wearily dismissed her. Now the threat of a walkout sends him into a desk-pounding fury—that’s the fiery Principal Nate we all know! Seeing this side of her boss makes Cayla suddenly feel all melty-like.

The fired-up Mrs. Blackburn marches into Nate’s office to express her displeasure. From Cayla’s blasé reaction, it appears that everyone who seeks an audience with the principal does it by storming in and making demands.

I’m beginning to find Mr. Blackburn even more aggravating than Mrs. Blackburn. Right or wrong, least she’s capable of expressing emotion. All he’s doing is standing around with that stupid camcorder.

In the history of “writing”, has there ever been a less charming “leading man” than Les Moore? Those perpetually arched eyebrows…the “Mom jeans” he’s wearing today…yecch. To his credit, at least he’s finally coming around to the idea of Cayla and Keisha becoming his family, with his talk of “two girls headed off to college”.
