Now that I’ve moved SoSF from WordPress.com to my own hosting, it becomes necessary to do a little poking around under the hood. Just letting you snarkers know in case we go offline briefly over the weekend…it’s not another legal action!

Her bedside manner sucks, but at least give Dr. Patella credit for not being the usual smirking, sarcastic, condescending type of medical practitioner usually depicted in this strip. But maybe that’s the kind of medicine Summer needs, to snap her out of her denial. Meanwhile, Les’ pussified expression of horror in panel 2 provides today’s laugh.

We are back live, hope you are too. Apparently I violated WordPress.com’s terms of service, and they yanked the plug on the old site.

I was able to import all the content from the old site. It’s going to take a little time twisting the knobs and restoring all the settings. One thing I’ve learned so far is that Akismet, a great spam-comment-blocker, is only free when you host your blog on wordpress.com…When I went to activate it on this knew site, I found out I have to pay for a “key”. So you may see the occasional spam comment (you’ll know which ones are spam, trust me). I’ll do my best to stay on top of those.

I’m still restoring the links that appear on the right hand side of this page, along with the rest of the widgets that I had lovingly arranged on the old site.

A very sincere “thank you” to the SoSF regulars who emailed me to find out what was going on when the site went down! It meant a lot to me.
