Les came all the way to New York to find out that his potential publisher is in his back yard?

Yes…yes I guess he did. Well done, BTS. Snark away, everybody…I got nothin’.

Found this yesterday. Because I never actually read the strip, except here, the late Stuck Funky blog, or at Comics Curmudgeon: what’s been happening in the Westviewniverse the past few months?

  2. “I had to think, what evil game was she playing with him?”

So Annie has been sitting on Les’ old original manuscript… she knows it’s him, yet says nothing for months. Whatta Be-acth!

Once again TB creates loathsome characters.

    I’ll take my high-fives now…
However, if next week’s story involves my prediction of Funky’s PT Cruiser breaking down, this will move from cool to creepy territory.

Today’s strip is complete filler, it does nothing to advance the story and it isn’t funny (unless you find TB reading my thoughts to be funny). At least we can revel in subtleties such as Les wearing Kent State’s colors.

EWK, over the past few months I think all you missed was 2 basketball games and Wally and Funky’s abruptly-ending adventure at the VA.

  4. Welcome, Ennui Willie! “Westviewniverse”, that’s even more classic than Pizzahenge. I’m in the process of updating the “Act III” page that has a synopsis of the “action”, but yeah, billytheskink pretty much summed up what you missed.

At some point, won’t “Lisa’s Story” have to move from a manuscript to a comic form for a more true-to-life version!? That’ll be a hard sell.

Les: “Hey, Pete, how about giving drawing super heroes a break and draw my dead wife with cancer instead?”

Well, billytheskink, not really in his back yard!
    HAW HAW HAW!!

Lordhepus, each week is a new low. There is just no effort at all going in into the strip.

  7. exactly it Sgt….no effort whatsoever

And let’s not forget the demise of Chunktoni Pizza Empire, as the NYC branch crumbles into the sea…

Wednesday’s strip – do my eyes deceive me? Has Les, after dealing with Apple Annie for a while now, suddenly realized she’s the one who screwed him? And is he actually showing anger? What next – she fesses up and actually returns the manuscript?

“Oh, was that yours, Les? I thought some other Les Moore might have written it, since it didn’t reek of the same suckiness as everything coming out of Funkytown…”
