Let’s see…Murdoch..Murdoch…Wait! They’re going to call the A-Team?!?
The site has been taken over by placeholders! It’s like, like a FW strip, the horror. TFH sez: Something went screwy with my WordPress install, and I only had my files backed up thru last month. Hopefully I’ll be able to grab and restore the more recent posts.
At least Anne is reacting how any human would upon hearing those names.
Best comment of the week in a long time.
And something something Fred Fairgood something…
I agreed until I noticed it didn’t say, “This is where the COW will go”.
And now I keep trying to thumb up comments.
And now I keep trying to thumb up comments.
*sigh* I know.
I’ve been contemplating moving this blog back onto the free hosting at WordPress.com, in order to free up bandwidth on my personal hosting account and also to simplify things for prospective guest authors. The downside here is that I’ll have to give up things like custom CSS and a bunch of WP plugins (like the one that lets you “Like” comments.
Speaking of comments, looking for feedback as to whether you readers would like a “nested” commenting format. This is where you could reply to comments directly under the comment (rather than at the bottom of the comments section). Let me know if anyone has a preference (or maybe I’ll just set it up and see what happens).
Wait, so people weren’t joking when they were predicting a crossover? I’ll be dipped.
Perhaps you could create a humongous Batiukverse family tree, so I’d know who the f*ck “the Murdochs” are supposed to be. Nah, just kidding…I don’t wanna know. Anyway, I’m sure BatFace will spends six or seven weeks explaining it and/or showing them arriving to save the day.
How does Annie get all that from:
“P-L-E-E-S K-I-L M-E” ??
@Epicus: Pam Murdoch is Crankshaft’s daughter and (IIRC) the sister-in-law of Jan Murdoch My Father, John Darling. Jeff is her nauseatingly smug stereotypical Boomer narcissist cunt of a husband. (No, I’m not being unfair) and I guess Jan’s brother? Who even knows, when Batiuk can’t even decide on when which strip is supposed to be set?
commodorejohn: Thanks, and thanks as well to anyone else who’s tried to explain this Murdoch nonsense via their comments. Funny how the world’s premier FW snark blog does a better job of explaining the strip than the author does. So this “Jeff” would then be Jessica’s uncle? String theory is less baffling than the Batiukverse, I’ll tell you what.
So far in this arc (and I doubt it’s even half over yet) he’s invoked Crankshaft, John Darling, that real-life pizza place he likes, Star Wars, at least one comic book reference (I think it was Superman), the teen pregnancy arc, the “Lisa is Darin’s mother” arc AND “Lisa’s Story”, both the arc itself and the book, the cover of which was shown several times. It’s like Tom’s Greatest Hits or something.
All of this crossover nonsense. If I actually cared, figuring this out would give me a headache.
Guys. Read today’s comic.
That storyline about Anne and Fred’s old neighborhood?
It was an attempt at foreshadowing.
Sky Futon Sock Fun!
Jeff is her nauseatingly smug stereotypical Boomer narcissist cunt of a husband.
test comment!

I shed a tear at the beauty of this.
