Holey Hazards, Holly!

Today’s strip has bricks! And snow! And a store called “Black Hole Comics.”

So, you know me! I had to google “black hole comics”. From the Wikipedia article I learned:

Black Hole is a twelve-issue comic book limited series written and illustrated by Charles Burns and … released in collected form in 2005….

The story deals with the aftermath of a sexually transmitted disease which causes grotesque mutations in teenagers.

So, yeah, as DSH said in yesterday’s strip: “it’s kind of a rough place.”

  1. There is a Black Hole Comics in Columbus OH. The YELP review indicates it’s a real rough place..

This is one of the best shops in all of Columbus if you are a fan of American Comics. I love this comic shop. It has a great selection of back issues, for a fair price. All the newest releases…. The shop owners is kind and willing to chat and share his opinions. The selection of trades is amazing. There is dozens of action figures and a good selection of statues and collectibles.

Also have a small selection of Japanese Manga (comics) and collectables.

I should also note, if you have allergies there is a shop kitty that frequents the place. Very sweet, but if you are allergic to long haired felines I would take something before coming inside.

  2. And now I’m trying to figure out how a place could be more unwelcoming than DSH John’s miserable hole-in-the-wall shop. I have a sinking feeling we’re about to find out.

IT’S A GOD DAMN COMIC BOOK STORE. WHAT IN HELL IS WRONG WITH YOU BATIUK.

  4. I agree with DSH on this one, Holly will be fine on the mean streets of Canton. She was born in Westview after all, home of the only hospital in the nation that hangs an “abandon hope all ye who enter” sign in the maternity ward.

  5. If this place is such a hell hole, why couldn’t she have called before hand to make sure that the damn comic is even there rather than trek all the way to Canton?
