Cat-Astrophe

SoSFDavidO here! My eyes are so itchy! What’s going on? I usually only get this way in the presence of a ca– a ca— achoo! Cat. *sniff*

Link to today’s William S. Burroughs insanity.

I thought we’d seen the end of the cat after Lisa died…

Les the Genius Writer had troubles of his own
Hollywood is asking ’bout his script on the phone
Though writing was his forte, he was really good at that
He just couldn’t shake that creepy talking cat

’cause the cat came back, the very next day
the cat came back
you thought it was a lame arc
but the cat came back
he just couldn’t stay away

Deadwife Deadlines

SoSFDavidO here! Ready to be ground under the millstone that is Lisa’ Story: The Book the Movie?

Apparently Sisyphus himself had it easy compared to the monumental task of turning a completed book into a screenplay. Evil, money grubbing Hollywood! He’s only had two years to work on it, what do they expect, miracles!? Sure, Les could have turned it over to a couple of really talented screenplay writers that really understand the art, (belong to a union) and have experience but that would have robbed him of his chance to be miserable!

“*I* want to write the screenplay,” Les had told Apple Ann in a huff over the phone.

Well, there ya go, jackass. Not sure what you’ve been doing in the year since you left Montoni’s to work on the screenplay more but it sure hasn’t been working on the screenplay.

Snow Joke

SoSfDavidO here, surprised that Tombat’s script actually seems a bit timely today! Though it was written a year ago, in January, so a weather-related joke couldn’t have been too hard to predict being relevant.

The strip is a little strange– I thought Cody and Owen lived at Comix Corner, sleeping on a cardboard box that had been thoughtfully flattened out by John but it appears these two have actual homes and families!

Sour Note

SoSfDavidO here, though I’ve been trying to leave. The aisle is blocked by Dinkle’s imposing form!

Let’s kick of today’s strip with a clunky line of dialog that no one would ever just randomly say to someone else!

People don’t seem to value the importance of music in our culture. Funny, I thought music was the one thing that united almost every culture across the globe, from Aboriginal Australians to the peak of French Society. It’s been like that for around, oh, 4,000 years or more so, is featured in everything from school plays to movie soundtracks and has numerous award shows honoring the year’s best musicians so I have NO idea what Holly is yammering about.

I mean, what do we need to do, put musical artists on a pedestal and obsess about them endlessly? Oh wait, we’re already doing that.
