A Bedside Yuletide

Shucks. Even the allies and the Germans called a truce at Christmas during WWI, and besides, today’s strip is hard to get that worked up about. Let me use this space then to doff the ol’ SoSF Santa cap to my esteemed staff of guest authors, and on behalf of them and myself, wish every one of you a merry Christmas and a happy, healthy, safe, and prosperous New Year.

Doesn’t he always hide his wife’s name in the Christmas strip?

Merry Christmas to all of our regulars, semi-regulars, occasionals and lurkers and especially the crack SoSF team, without whom none of this would be possible! Here’s hoping for another great year of, uh, stuff.

Yeah, I mean snarking on this one is pretty much pointless. I’d wager that the Xmas strip is probably his (chuckle) least-read strip of the year. Except for the other 364 of them. And 2016 is a leap year, so we’ll get one extra strip!!! The gifts never stop coming, eh?

  3. No puns, no misery, and minimal smirking? It’s a Christmas miracle.

    Merry Christmas, everybody. 🙂

The road getting to this strip was about miserable, but this one’s actually kinda sweet. Maybe it’s just the time of year getting to me.

    Merry Christmas SoSFers.

  6. It’s sort of sweet and a lot bitter. Here are a bunch of old people who’d thought life would be a lot better for them at this point kicking at the darkness till it bleeds Christmas.

My ex-MIL ( the MIL every husband would love to have) is about to pass this Christmas. May she have peace.

And may all the SOSF’ers have happiness and peace this day also.

Merry Christmas everyone, including Batiuk’s family.

Yeah, Bloom County has been incredible. Berke has really grown as a cartoonist. Real tenderness and a soft touch as opposed to force fed sentimenentality.

@Nathan Oral, I must have (well) spent close to half a hour looking at that strip yesterday. I just marveled at the shading and use of color. That fact that it was well written was just the cherry on top.

  10. Bloom County is the gift that never forgets how ’tis better to give than receive.

Many Christmas blessings to everyone. And may your 2016 be happy and healthy!
