Owen the Clone

No wonder Cody and Owen are besties: both enjoy dressing up for Halloween, and then berating anyone who incorrectly guesses at who or what they’re supposed to be. Admittedly, today’s strip is actually funny! Generic Blonde Chick (Mallory or whoever) is kinda flirty, even playfully knocking on “Ben Reilly’s” head, before Owen’s fanboy douchery gives him away.

But the real treat today, of course, is the sight of Les in panel 2, strutting down the hall in full Elizabethan drag! “Hey Mr. Moore! Nice Shakespeare costume!” “Why, I’m not Shakespeare, you dunce! This is a Francis Bacon costume!”

Les vents to his “work wife” Linda about how another student tried to pass off a purchased paper as his own work. I wonder if that student’s offense was dealt with as lightly as was Maddie’s? “Everyone deserves a second chance, Cory…so here’s what I’m going to do. Moby Dick-Les

Well, we’ve certainly gotten to know our Maddie a little better over the last couple of weeks; for example (as snarker John commented on Wednesday), we’ve learned that she and Jinx are BFF’s. But although we know she’s in the band, when has it ever been demonstrated that she’s “musically creative like [her] Dad”? And how “musically creative” does one have to be to master “air guitar”?
