I dunno if Adeela’s resume should get her and H-1B visa or not, but today’s strip should go in her resume if she wants to hang around in Funky Winkerbean.
This is grade A+ sad-sackery. Funky himself would stand in line. And that waddling off? It’s nearly Les-level! Adeela truly is a Westviewian at heart.
“I’m worried I won’t be able to find a job and will have to leave this country and return to my dangerous homeland!”
“Yeah, punches have consequences! So I’ll see you at graduation, huh?”
-Friendship, by Tom Batiuk
To no one’s surprise, Tom Batiuk’s Zippy The Pinhead pastiche is both unintentional and excrementally bad.
Adeela is truly a sad-sack’s sad-sack all right, regardless of her background she has pure Westviewian clotted blood trudging through her slowly failing veins. If Adeela is not employed at WHS, Montoni’s and/or Komix Korner by the end of the year, some sort of grave injustice has occurred.
Coming later in 2019: Funky and Tony decide to remodel…and Wally knows the PERFECT architect for the job. Montoni’s Pizza Mecca goes on to become a modest local success and somehow no one is offended either.
Maybe Adeela will be hired by Chester the Molester to design a NEW Atomix Komik office/BATOM comics Museum!
…or not, your choice.
The obvious solution (emigrating to Canada) is not the obvious one to these zombies because Batiuk probably thinks that the place is covered in a glacier…….
How much is a taxi to Roxham Road?
Canaduh is a tropical paradise compared to snow-every-day Ahia (as portrayed by BatYecchh).
Rearrange the order of that last sentence, and you’d have the perfect name for this “comic” strip: “No Happy Times”.
Being a Graduate from the Westiew Community College Architectural school, just doesn’t hold the same prestige it used to
Unfortunately, she couldn’t get into any of those “colleges” that advertise in matchbook covers.
As a five-second search of the internet reveals:
“Pre-professional programs are usually intended for those who wish to pursue a professional master’s degree in architecture. However, the minimum education requirement to become a licensed architect is a professional Bachelor of Architecture (B.Arch.) degree that takes 5 years to earn.”
So what Adeela is going to do with her two-year Community College degree in the field is a mystery. I should be, but I’m not surprised that BatHack can’t even do the minimum search to get the story right.
How much education is required to design tornado sirens?
