When what to their wondering eyes should appear…it’s Les, home safe and sound. To the astonishment of absolutely no one, TB has gone to great lengths to build intrigue, with no payoff, none whatsoever. Hard to believe the erstwhile hall monitor has the strength to hoist his strapping daughter with a rib-cracking hug, but anyway.
Who Can It Be Now?
The tension not only has Cayla biting her fingernails, but causes her hair to stick straight out from her head. Oh, wait…that’s how her hair always looks.
Wait-Les
OK, well, “Is your father home yet, Summer?” would be a little more natural. Summer has at least enough respect to address him as Dad. 
Summer has gone right past looking concerned: in panel 2 she looks as if she’s just learned the plane has gone off the radar. And that haunted look in panel 3? Summer’s not just scared: why, she’s Wally-scared!
It's Exhausting
He’s self-effacing when he should be confident, and smug when he should be humble. The Les Moore Book Tour rolls on. His li’l Chia Pet back home offers Les some encouragement: “…it’s your destiny.” Yeah, right.
