“Amazing” is one of those words that’s completely lost its meaning from overuse. What amazes me is that Jess is still standing there holding up that giant video camera. Something else that amazes me about today’s strip is how Cindy checks her phone and the first thing she sees is the tabloid headline and photo of Masone and Marianne. Did somebody see it and send it to her? Does she subscribe to “DMZ’s” mobile alerts? No matter. Batiuk has spent months establishing Cindy’s insecurity and self-doubt, and almost as much time setting up a showdown between her and Mason’s sexy (though sweet and innocent) co-star. Shit’s about to get real, yo.

Wow, one story led right into the next one! He CAN do it! The way I see it, Mason has this coming. I mean innocently or not he DID get together with Marianne the second Cindy turned her back, very poorly played on his part.
So… why was Vera in this interview? And why didn’t DMZ caption that photo “Marianne Winters kisses like a pictus catfish”?
Cindy’s threshold for amazement is pretty low if it was crossed by Cliff’s ten minute recounting of his testimony before theSenate Government Operations Committee.
It’s funny, Batiuk spent two weeks on this story and never showed Cliff bravely standing up to authority. Just lots of him trying to be a smartass and pontificating in typical Batiukian style.
That’s no tabloid headline, that’s a text message from Jarre-Jarre himself.
Oh, this is beyond the pale. Batiuk is clearly trying to make a clumsy parallel here between Cindy’s false accusations based on a lie and HUAC’s legitimate belief that the Soviet Union had agents of influence in high places.
Wow, Cliff is a maverick.
At least we finally got a bit of action after another week of Batty running out the clock.
Looking at that profile pick in the header, I’m pretty sure Cliff spent a good part of those lost 60 years painting a mural in Montoni’s.

Over in Crankshaft land, an old lady reminisces about Christmas’ of yore and how they didn’t have Black Friday. But isn’t browsing the store windows and admiring “stuff” sort of against the spirit of the season?
I’m not against people having some toys, but the message in this strip is odd since it is obvious that Christmas was always heavily commercialized, and if it has gotten more so, well then it was due to the success of Christmas past.
