Geezer, Please

The comics-savvy folks around here have already pointed out that whatever value attached to Starbuck Jones #1 is greatly diminished by that fact that it’s not bagged or better still, slabbed (submitted to an independent grading company and encased in a sealed, hard plastic container). TB, who is supposedly comics-savvy, sees fit to place this highly valuable artifact in the sweaty, pasty paws of Dead Skunk Head John.

I was so in awe of Funky’s shape-shifting skull in panel three that I brought it to life:

One From the Vault

Well! Montoni’s actually has an office after all. How come we always see Funky doing paperwork in the restaurant? Maybe that’s so he can keep on eye on his wonderful staff? And a safe! Let’s see what’s in there! A comic book? What’s a Starbuck Jones? Is that when you go into withdrawal without a Venti Iced Caramel Macchiato? A Google search for “Starbuck Jones” turned up a webcomic. That’s too new-school for fanboy TB…

Pep(peroni) Talk

Random, bulleted thoughts:

  • I’ll bet Funky has stashed away somewhere a “World’s Best Boss” mug that he bought for himself at Spencer Gifts (like Michael Scott from The Office).
  • I know Merry Pookster is delighted to see Khan alive and well, and no doubt plotting to go jihad, starting with his boss.
  • Speaking of faces we haven’t seen in ages: guess I can scratch Chef Marcello Mastriani off the missing in action list! He looks like the Swedish Chef after a shave.
  • If money’s tight, Funky might consider selling off that gold-plated Wurlitzer jukebox!
  • “We’re like a family here…or at least, a family that you like.” Because such a thing as familial love is an alien concept in Westview. Ask Cory.
  • The “punchline” just sucks so bad I’ll leave it alone.
