Forced Busing

Wow: not a “Hi” or “Hello” but rather a “Why is Funky here?” “Well, Summer, ever since Mr. Winkerbean singlehandedly rescued girls’ basketball, and all the high school sports programs, he feels he has carte blanche to walk into people’s houses unannounced. Get used to it, sweetie.”

So now it’s a matter of record that Summer is, in fact, in her senior year of high school. It’s a good thing that Les has been “on top of” her college application process. Right? Right?

SoSF bonus: just for the hell of it, here’s a flashback from the 2007 Westview Senior Class trip to D.C.

Quarant'anni di Montoni's

Finally, a special occasion that actually deserves to be celebrated at Montoni’s. The joint hasn’t been this packed since Darin discovered breakfast pizza. Everybody’s here…of course, Becky and Wally have to slave away back in the kitchen, and Khan’s been a persona non grata since opening up his own eatery nearly a year ago. Holly and Donna are in the same shot, proving they are not the same person; ditto Summer and Pete (wasn’t he leaving town?). Dead Skunk Head John and Bull are either gazing lovingly at one another or have just finished sharing a joint.

How Can I Miss You When You Won't Go Away?

The whole thing with the Lisa tapes has lost whatever warmth and sentimentality it possessed, and has finally become creepy. How much time and energy did it take this dying woman to produce tapes for every occasion, every milestone in the lives of her surviving family? And what a frigging nag she is! Did she think that Les, a teacher, wouldn’t be “on top of” his daughter’s college application process? No matter: to Les, even Lisa’s postmortem micromanagement brings him sweet, sweet bliss.

We Win, Chapter Whatever

The Ridger

…Is TB gearing up to tread on Pat Summitt’s turf with his craporiffic “storytelling”?

A tip of the SoSF tinfoil hat to The Ridger for that very prescient comment from over two months ago! Today’s strip is also notable in that the girls’ roster has expanded from seven to eleven or twelve (the girl to Bull’s right wears a shirt with no number and might be the equipment manager).
