Crash Test Mummy

This is the arc that never ends
No, it goes on and on, my friend
Today’s strip… promises an end in only one more day
But they’ve been in Ohio since mid-week so I must say…

This is the arc that never ends
No, it goes on and on, my friend
TB has… concerning issues writing about old parents
They seem to have a death wish, which in Westview makes some sense…

‘Cause this is the arc that never ends
No, it goes on and on my friend
I have… avoided song parody but now am forced to cave
I apologize to Shari Lewis as she rolls in her grave…

This is the arc that never ends
No, it goes on and on, my friend…

Yeah, because the way to handle an obviously senile parent is to scream and yell at them hatefully and treat them like crap.
I know he’s supposed to be a nice guy and all but strips like this week’s make me like Batiuk even less.

Funky looks like he’s hoping to see Cell Phone Girl driving towards them.

It doesn’t even make sense. “One more day”…huh? “One more mile” would at least make a LITTLE sense. It’s not even daffy old coot humor anymore, now it’s just old coot with no humor and no daffiness to be had.

  4. Yeah. Right. This is funny. “Old lady becomes a potential projectile in the event of a crash.” Given her location, if Cell Phone Girl shows up, she’s gonna slam into Holly’s head and kill her.

As they pull into Westview and drive past Montoni’s they will either see a “gone fish’n” sign hastily taped to the door, or the place wide open with a drug party going on inside.

The old lady yells DROP ME OFF HERE, YOU IDIOTS.

Funky could have avoided all of this by lying and saying the event was cancelled.

  6. We here at SoSF pause to note the passing of comics legend Russ Heath. As part of the Batty Batom Bullpen, he crafted the borderline erotic cover for The Starbuck Jones Coloring Book, as well as the Tank Thompson cover. More famously, his work was totally ripped off appropriated by pop artist Roy Lichtenstein.

So in this Sunday installment, Batty’s writing is boring that it put one of the characters to sleep.
