Preliminary research by people who took college level chemistry classes showed that individuals who voted for the 2022 Funky Awards were happier, more energetic, and more attractive to their preferred romantic partners than the control group. (Disclaimer: This statement should not be taken as any kind of indication that the person and/or persons who took college level chemistry classes remember what was taught in those classes or even, indeed, that they passed the class at all.)

A few weeks ago, when I was emailing an awards update to Epicus, I told him that I was planning on doing a couple deep dives during the time voting was active. I also asked him if there were anyone in particular he’d like to see.

Y. Knott! You are right! There does seem to be some kind of error. I see a category for Best Funky Winkerbean Strip of 2022. But these aren’t the strips I remember being the best this year!

Well, I don’t want to take any awards away from any poor strips that were nominated. But I still have to fix this gross overrsight.

Last year, the Academy Awards ticked off a bunch of people by eliminating about half of the Oscar presentations so they could spend more time on washed up comedians being assaulted.
