Today’s strip also wasn’t available for preview. Based on Batiuk’s track record with Crankshaft, I’m assuming we’re in for a solid week of airplane urination “humor”.

OK, when I typed “So, what’s the deal with airline food?” in yesterday’s post, I didn’t think Les would seize upon that and give us a airline complaints routine that even Milton Berle wouldn’t steal in today’s strip. I’m truly and terribly sorry. Seriously, I genuinely apologize and take full responsibility for this crime against newsprint. Somebody has to take responsibility…
Les griping about the airline nickel-and-diming him just doesn’t track, as Mason paid for his flight, a fact that was mentioned in the strip as recently as… literally yesterday. Well, I mean, the idea that Les and Cayla were charged extra for their stated “free” trip doesn’t track. Les griping at the slightest opportunity, of course, does. If Les was acting like this the whole flight he should be grateful that he wasn’t tossed out of the plane without a parachute. A nation sighs at the missed opportunity.

A big tip of the SoSF coonskin cap to Beckoning Chasm for seeing us through the last couple weeks. Link to today’s strip
Slight scheduling change, TFH will be jumping in next Monday so you’re stuck with me this week! And if today’s strip is any indication we’ll be spending yet another week on the inner workings of the Fukyverse’s weirdest and least plausible marriage of them all, as well as seeing firsthand what will happen when a dimwitted force meets an unbelievably bland object. I mean it’s not like Jessica just got back from Iraq or Antarctica or something, she was only in California waiting for someone to ask her to film a documentary, so this magical airport reunion doesn’t really have the “emotional impact” Bat Ick probably thinks it does. Only the most devout FW reader would even realize they’d been apart, much less why.
Note how I failed to mention today’s punchline. I think that summarizes it better than any other insult or criticism could. “Airport pick-up”…just kill me now.

Well, he’s resuming one of FW’s twenty thousand dangling plot threads, so that’s something. Unfortunately, though, it’s this one. Dinkle and his perpetually-ignored wife are traveling to Belgium to cash in big-time on Dinkle’s outrageous WHS band candy scam, but unfortunately for both Harry is a complete imbecile whose devotion to marching bands has left him totally unable to perform simple everyday tasks like a regular person. And because this is FW and he’s dealing with a government agency (at the airport no less), incompetence, annoyances and non-stop hassles are in store for everyone…including FW readers…assuming there are any, of course.
